December 14 Daily Winner - Debbie Canady

Photo taken Saturday, Dec. 12, by Debbie Canady as an album cover for her photos of the Jaycees Shopping Tour. She tweaked it into a greeting for Snap It! fans (making it ineligible for the monthly contest but, nevertheless, thanks Debbie! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.)

August 10 Honorable Mention - Debbie Canady

"Water Under The Bridge." Got this shot at Bear Creek Bridge on (where else), Bear Creek Road in Henry County. I liked the little rapids and the sound of the swift water, but just before the rapids appears to be calm water. Photo by Debbie Canady.

"The American Farm". An American flag flies high atop the grain bins on the Story Farm on Mill Creek Road in the Puryear area. This is a working farm and is surrounded by tall healthy crops thanks to all the rain this year. Photo by Debbie Canady.

August 5 Honorable Mention - Debbie Canady

"The Old Caldwell Place". This magnificent historic home sits on a very high hill north of Puryear on Old Caldwell Road. It is now owned and occupied by Mr. & Mrs. Chris Beloit, who have done a wonderful job preserving the character and history associated with this beautiful place. Originally built in1841 and completed in 1846, every brick in the house was made on site and hand laid by slaves. The house bears scars where cannon balls hit the house during the Civil War, but the 18" thick walls would not let them penetrate. There were also bullet holes in the walls of the house from the war. Legend (and the family who lives in the home) has it that Col. Tom Caldwell shot and killed a Union soldier in the house at the top of the stairs. They say that the ghost of that soldier is still in the house and can be heard and sometimes even seen in the house.

July 31 Honorable Mention - Debbie Canady

This cabin, located on Sulphur Well Acadamy Road in the Springville area, is reminiscent of a simpler time, when people greeted neighbors and friends from the front porch, gathered their kids, and spent time with each other every day. By Debbie Canady.
